Day 1: Inverness to Dornoch (55 miles)

Start your NC500 adventure by collecting your motorhome from the motorhome hire team in Edinburgh and head towards the East coast. Head north towards Dornoch, a picturesque coastal town. Visit the historic Dornoch Cathedral and enjoy a stroll along Dornoch Beach. Settle in for the night at a nearby campsite, where your comfortable motorhome will make you feel right at home.

Day 2: Dornoch to John O’Groats (90 miles)

Day 3: John O’Groats to Thurso (20 miles)

Take a short but scenic drive to Thurso. Visit the Castle of Mey, once the Queen Mother’s holiday home, or spend time at Dunnet Head—the actual northernmost point of the British mainland. Return to Thurso and enjoy local seafood. With your hired motorhome, you’ll always have a cozy space to relax after your day of exploration around this fabulous landscape.

Day 4: Thurso to Durness (72 miles)

This leg of the journey will take you along some of the wildest and most beautiful parts of the NC500. Visit Smoo Cave in Durness, an impressive sea cave. Day 5: Durness to Ullapool (66 miles)

Continue your journey along the west coast towards Ullapool. En route, you’ll pass through the mountainous region of Assynt, with the option to visit Ardvreck Castle. Your motorhome from the Edinburgh team will make it easy to pause and take in the scenery. End your day by camping near Ullapool, a vibrant fishing town.

Day 6: Ullapool to Gairloch (56 miles)

Day 7: Gairloch to Edinburgh (222 miles)

On your final day, make your way back to Edinburgh, this would be an early get up to get back to the branch but the scenery is worth the drive. . You could stop at Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve for a hike or take a scenic detour through Torridon. Return your motorhome to the branch and enjoy a final evening in the city, reflecting on your unforgettable NC500 adventure.
