There is a lot to see in Northumberland but this particular part of northern England seems to be a little bit forgotten.
Northumberland is full of spectacular beaches and has more castles than any other part of England. It has more than 30 miles of beaches and areas of outstanding Beauty. There are little quirky villages which are just perfect for exploring with your kids or furry friends, dogs are allowed on the vast majority of Northumberland’s beaches.
The most convenient way to explore this part of Great Britian would be to hire a Campervan or Motorhome from Easicampers. Our Easicampers in Edinburgh is the closest one to Northumberland. This will give you the freedom of exploring plus it can be a more economical option than hotels or B&B’s stays. One of the most spectacular castles of Northumberland is the famous Bamburgh Castle which is one of the most breathtaking places to visit.
Bamburgh castle is placed on the rocky plateau above Bamburgh beach and again this beach is beautiful!
Warkworth Castle is a magnificent fortress with a spectacular river and coastal views from the castle walls. It is not surprising that a castle with such a stormy history has many residents and scary ghosts living there. One of them is a young man with an unknown identity. There is also the Grey Lady, who is said to be Margaret Neville. She is usually seen wailing in one of the castle towers.
We would recommend staying at Dunstan hill Camping and Caravanning site.
Alnwick Castle is a must see for all Harry Potter fans! There are Plenty of activities for all fans of Harry Potter such as broom stick rides etc! It is a medieval castle and one of the finest in England. Alnwick castle is located in a beautiful park and you can also visit the famous Alnwick Castle Gardens. These Gardens have stunning water features, as well as cherry blossom trees with their swings and ornamental borders.
We would recommend to stop at Pippins park when hiring one of our Campervans or Motorhomes. Pippins park is a beautiful and well maintained caravan park.
Due to its remote locations we highly recommend that you hire a campervan or motorhome from Easicampers in Edinburgh for peace of mind and comfort of travelling.
