MUSEUM OF CHILD HOOD
The brand new gallery features 60 rarely seen objects relating to childhood life, the newly displayed items include retro favourites like buzz light-year action figure from 2000 a fisher price chatter phone dating to 1979 and lots more. NATIONAL GALLERY OF SCOTLAND COMPLEX
The Scottish national gallery and adjoining Scottish academy form a complex in the heart of Edinburgh. The galleries are fab for free family days out there’s lots for you to see and do including: hands on art making workshops, multi sensory storytelling, family art tours, special holiday events and trails for you to explore the galleries at your own pace follow the link here for extra events and dates.
THE SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT
The Scottish parliament is open 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday all visits are free of charge. As this is a working parliament building there are some differences in what you can do depending on which day you visit. If you are planning on visiting on these days MONDAY, FRIDAY,SATURDAY AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS then parliament does not normally sit on Monday and Friday so it will not be possible to attend a debate on these dates, although you can still book a free guided tour, visit the shop, enjoy a snack in the café, or enjoy the artwork displays. If you choose to visit on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday when parliament is in recess the activates are the same as Monday, Friday, Saturday the only difference is you can access the debating chamber with your free ticket when parliament is sitting.
