Fresh Water tank

It’s generally better to fill the fresh water tank of your Easicampers motorhome at the campsite when you arrive — here’s why:

✅ Reasons to fill at the campsite:

  • Weight & fuel efficiency: Water is heavy — 1 litre weighs 1kg. A 100-litre tank adds 100kg+ to your motorhome load, increasing fuel use.
  • Stability & handling: A full tank can affect how the motorhome drives, especially on winding or hilly roads.
  • Local rules: Some hire companies ask you to travel with an empty or partially filled tank to avoid unnecessary strain.
  • Water freshness: Filling at the campsite ensures the water is fresh, especially if you plan to drink or cook with it.

🚐 When to fill before setting off:

  • If you’re going wild camping or unsure whether the site has a water point.
  • If you’re stopping en route and want access to water (e.g. for a toilet, tea, or washing).
  • If the drive is very short and you prefer to arrive fully set up.

💡 Tip:

Many people travel with just 10–20 litres (enough for a toilet flush or quick rinse) and then fill up fully at the campsite.

Let me know if you’re planning wild camping or going to a remote site — advice might change a bit.
