Stunning Countryside vistas

Some of the best countryside in the world is no more than a short trip away.

Why not take one of our beautiful modern campervans or motorhomes and visit one or many of these views yourself.

If you pick up from Preston you can start your trip by heading north and making a short stop in the Lake District, home to stunning scenery and amazing walking trails.

From there you can head up to Scotland and visit Britain’s best scenery, such as the Isle of Skye, Loch Ness and Glencoe known to be Scotland’s most stunning and romantic getaway, you may also recognise this destination from the famous Harry Potter movie franchise.

If heading down south is your plan, then you will still not fall short of destinations. You can visit the forest of dean, the Lizard national Reserve, or swing into Wales and cruise through the Brecon Beacons in your motorhome and maybe climb Snowdonia Wales’s tallest mountain.

With unlimited mileage you really can go anywhere in the UK that suits your desires.

Staycation Motorhome Holiday – Post Lockdown

blank

AN ENGLISH SUMMER HOLIDAY

We’re almost sure everyone has now got cabin fever from seeing the same four walls during this lockdown and with all new travel restrictions we know it is quite hard to travel abroad.  So the question we’re asking YOU is why not have a staycation in one of our 4-6 berth Campervans or Motorhomes and see the beauty of our own country?

SIXTEEN LAKES

There are 16 lakes and many hidden tarns in the Lake District but a few of the main ones include:

Lake Windermere,

Coniston,

Ullswater,

Buttermere and,

Rydal Water

Some of these lakes allow open water swimming so make sure to bring your Cozzie, towel and your open water swimming Buoy!

HIKING

Make sure you bring your walking boots as the Lake District offers the most amazing trails through woodlands,  mountains, fells and also the beautiful little Cumbrian towns with easy access to parking your Campervan or Motorhome.

CYCLING

Luckily for us we really do live in an extremely beautiful country with breath-taking views such as the Lake District. There is so many cycling routes around the lakes that have cafes and restaurants along the way.

Festival Camping in a Motorhome

What  you need to know, about festival camping in a motorhome?

You will have to buy a separate motorhome ticket in addition to your festival tickets.
Everyone staying in your motorhome will require a festival ticket.
In some instances it is allowable to park a car next to the motorhome.
Once settled in your designated  space you will probably be required to remain there until the end of the festival.
You will not have access to an electric hook up but your motorhome rental will run on the leisure battery and gas for all of its amenities (hot water, shower, fridge, cooker, heating, lighting) with the exception of the 240V plug sockets (remember to pack a car phone charger) Turning over the engine each morning will keep the leisure battery topped up throughout your stay. This is important as generators are usually not allowed.

But the best thing of all is, you will get to enjoy the atmosphere of the event,  but still have all your home comforts.

Tips to get you confidently driving a motorhome

Whilst it may seem a rather daunting vehicle to drive, driving a motorhome is easier than expected. Just relax, slow down and enjoy your journey.

Don’t drive to fast and give yourself plenty of extra space, things like accelerating and braking will take longer to achieve. The best way to prevent accidents is to increase the distance between you and the vehicle in front and to reduce your speed accordingly if there are strong winds, poor visibility or you are going downhill.

Watch the height and width. The average motorhome is wider and higher than you may be used to. Be aware of this when approaching low bridges or narrow roads. Why not keep a note of the measurements on your dash board as a reminder? If you’re not sure if you’ll fit, don’t attempt it, take another route.

Driving a motorhome requires a little more time to manoeuvre than what you may be used to. Take into account the size of the motorhome, corners need to be taken widely, keeping an eye on the middle and back. Otherwise, you risk catching the kerb or a sign post.

It might be strange not seeing as much out of the back windows as you are used to. Make sure your wing mirrors are set at the right angle for you. You will need to use them a lot, especially when overtaking and manoeuvring the vehicle.

Lastly, remember when re-fuelling that the motorhome uses Diesel.

Winter Hire

Motorhome/RV Winter Tips

If you are hiring a motorhome from us at Easicampers this winter then here a few helpful tips to make sure you get the most out of your motorhome/RV experience in the UK. Here at Easicampers we strive to give our customers a first rate experience.

Gas Bottles

During the winter month’s when using your hired motorhome/RV you will use more gas on the heating and hot water in the vehicle. Also if you aren’t on a camp site with hook up connection, the fridge will run of the gas supply. We supply you with a gas bottle that is remaining in the vehicle of its last hire. If you do want to make sure you have a full bottle as well as this one bottle we do hire them out at a cost of £45. We do need notice for this so please book in advance.  if you don’t request this and turn up at one of our airport branche’s we can’t get a bottle but if you are collecting from our local city branches (Wigan,Preston,Blackburn) this is subject to availability.

Windows/Vents

Make sure at night your windows are shut completely. Any windows left slightly ajar will let the cold weather /rain in. The window over the table in your motorhome needs to be shut for your heating to work correctly. Make sure any roof openings (windows/vents) are shut correctly. To keep more heat in the vehicle it is advisable to put the 2 blinds down over every window. Also you are provided with front window blinds to go on your windscreen and side front windows.

Water tank

During the winter season where temperatures drop your motorhome water system will dump its water if the vehicle gets too cold. If you think the temperature will drop we advise to empty your water tank to the  minimum so you don’t lose water. Always make sure you drain your waste water tank more regular during the cold snap.

Heating

Your heating system in the motorhome goes upto 30 degrees, if there are 6 of you in the vehicle it will get really warm. The warmer you have the heating the more gas it burns, these vehicles do get really warm. Ideally if you put the vehicle heating on about 6pm on a temperature of round 15- 16 degrees for a few hours this will keep you warm over night with the correct bedding that is.
You can set your heating to come on at certain times. So if you want it on at 10pm and then 7am these vehicles allow you to do that.

If you need any more advice on your motorhome hire over winter please call us on 01942 821080 to speak to one of our knowledgeable members of staff.

Hiring a motorhome or campervan for a winter break has never been easier, Easicampers wigan have some fabulous deals on campervans and motorhomes this winter.

Motor homing In Winter

Winter touring holidays or breaks appeal to so many motorhome owners for a number of reasons.

The roads are not so crowded, parking restrictions may not be so severe, wild camping is tolerated more as many campsites are closed and crisp, winter mornings offer some of the best scenery in Scotland.

So long as your motorhome offers you the warmth and comfort that you desire then what have you got to lose! Easicampers Rental Motorhomes are insulated, if you want some inspiration of where to go over winter, than consider one – or all – of the following

Scotland:

The Hebrides – or the Western Isles as they are also known of the west coast of Scotland is a chain of beautifully unspoilt islands 30 miles off the North West coast of Scotland. They are a popular destination with serious motorhome hirers and motorhomes over the winter months, partly because the weather is generally mild due to a year-round current that originates in the Caribbean and also because they are easily accessible from mainland Scotland by ferry. Although the winters are mild, visitors occasionally experience some of the wildest and stormiest gales around – so take your raincoat in preparation!

England:

The Lake District provides the perfect backdrop for a winter motorhome and campervan trip there are many walks you can enjoy whatever the length of your stay, but always ensure you’re well prepared and have the right equipment to hand. Research the walks beforehand and only tackle those you are confident of completing.

Some regular Lake land walkers will tell you that the National Park offers a much more handsome landscape in the winter months than it does in the summer. Why not find out for yourselves?

 Wales:

Snowdonia, known in Welsh as Eryri, offers something for everyone wanting to breathe in some fresh mountain air including forest walks, bird watching, castles, museums, the list is endless. There’s also a steam railway so you can take a seat and admire the crisp winter scenes from the comfort of your carriage.

Saving money on your motor home holiday

More and more families in the UK are now choosing to go on motorhome holidays in order to save money. Now just because going on a motorhome holiday is generally cheaper than flying to another country and staying in a hotel, if you’re not careful you could end up spending more than you budgeted. So Easicampers wigan has put together a plan which should hopefully save you some money.

Plan your location carefully

One of the great things about motorhomes is that they enable you to travel wherever you want, and for most people they take full advantage of this by traveling across Europe multiple times a year. However, the cost of your holiday can sometimes increase dramatically depending on where you travel to as some places will cost more to stay in than others.

Save on petrol

The biggest cost of a motorhome holiday is usually petrol, especially if you are planning a long distance journey. Fortunately, petrol prices have been decreasing in the UK recently, which means that you will pay less than in recent years. However, not all petrol stations offer the same amount of savings as others, which is why you need to make sure you don’t just stop off at the first one you see.

Create an itinerary

Most families love going on motorhome holidays as it gives them a time to bond as a family and for those that go on their own it gives them a sense of freedom and the ability to be spontaneous. So then we are going to suggest to you that you create an itinerary it may seem like a strange idea. However, if you are really trying to save some money it’s wise to have an idea of what you want to do when you get to your holiday destination. So if you can plan roughly what you are thinking of doing each day of your holiday this will help you to set your budget accordingly.

Have a back-up plan

When setting off on your holiday you will be full of excitement which means that you can sometimes forget the important things. For example, when was the last time you topped up your motorhomes oil and water levels or checked the tyre pressures? Easicampers wigan will ensure all this is done for you before you set off. you are covered with breakdown  assistance and will receive a copy of the number when  you collect your motorhome.

Saving money on your motorhome holiday can be easy as long as you spend some time planning your holiday and by doing some research. Furthermore if you can plan as much as you can before you leave you will be able to enjoy yourself a lot more when you get there.

If you would like to book a motorhome then look no further than Easicampers wigan we have  brand new 6 berth ford zefiro  motorhomes  available to hire, so give the team a call on 01942 77 88 99 we will be more than happy to help you make your booking.
